This area is mostly shady due to its surround vegetation of coast redwood, madrone, and oak brush. Expect temperatures of 70°F-90°F in the summer. Nearby volleyball poles and horseshoe pits are provide, but not equipment, nor it is rented. About 200 ft. from the picnic area, there is a grass field, a great place to sunbathe. The field is open to all visitors and not just meadow picnickers. Please contact the reservations desk for availability, fees, regulations and any questions you may have.
