State of California Smallpox Information Referral Line
Information about smallpox and the smallpox vaccine is now available by calling the Governor's Office of Emergency Services Safety Information and Referral Line. Callers to the referral line can obtain information about smallpox, the smallpox vaccine and health conditions that would preclude an individual from receiving the smallpox vaccine. The toll-free referral line provides information on how to contact a live operator at the Centers for Disease Control for additional information.

The service responds to questions from the general public, public health professionals, and emergency response teams and is available for Spanish speakers and the hearing impaired.
