  The residents of San Mateo County value greater civic participation on the part of all individuals, organizations and institutions. Increasing the level of collaborative decision-making that is regional in focus will help produce effective regional solutions to difficult issues. More partnerships across a multitude of cities, organizations and institutions inside and outside the county, especially in the areas of education, economic development and land use will be needed to achieve the vision.
